Academy students win funding at Alltech competition
Innovation Academy students Carla Ferreira, Luca Mancinelli and Vincent Mouchi were selected to represent Trinity College Dublin at the Alltech Innovation Competition 2014 on 2 April 2014. For this second edition of the competition, Alltech selected one team from each university in Ireland to present a business plan from an innovative idea about agriculture and environmental issues.
The Innovation Academy team presented a project to teach children about science with activities, with topics focusing on sustainable environment and natural resources. More specifically, they proposed a series of half a day to one full day events where small groups of children could learn more about science while having fun. For this idea, Carla, Luca and Vincent were rewarded a running-up prize of €1000 and were encouraged to follow up on this project.
