Innovation Academy PhD student off to Entrepreneurship Summer School
Innovation Academy student Clive Curley, a PhD candidate in Bioengineering at TCD has been selected as this year’s winner of the Twente University Summer School programme, based on his aspirations for taking his research ideas to the next level.
Clive is heading off to the Netherlands for one week in July to participate in the prestigious ‘Entrepreneurship & Technology Venturing’ Summer School programme. This annual initiative affords students a fantastic opportunity to explore their concepts further in an international ecosystem and network with Europe’s leading experts. The Dean of Graduate Studies at TCD has very generously provided the funding for this initiative again this year.
Clive’s PhD is funded by the PRTLI GREP programme and focuses on the development of a new catheter that is capable of injecting cardiac stem cells embedded in a gel into the wall of infarcted hearts. His research is collaboration between the cardiovascular group in the Trinity Centre of Bioengineering (TCBE) and the Tissue Engineering Group (TERG) in RCSI with Dr. Garry Duffy [RCSI] and Prof. Bruce Murphy [Biomechanical Engineering].
Clive is half way through his Postgraduate Certificate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship with the Innovation Academy which he hopes to complete this year.
Congratulations to Clive on this great opportunity.
