Leadership Development – Cooking Challenge at QUB
The students on the Leadership Module recently spent an exciting evening at the cookery school at James Street South restaurant in Belfast. When they arrived they were greeted by the owner of the restaurant along with the raw materials for some fine Italian cooking.
The students were split in to two teams, and before long they were all getting their hands dirty with eggs, flour, basil, olive oil and cream. It was amazing to watch them get so passionate about the task they were doing. They took simple ingredients and, with the help of a few of the restaurant’s chefs, turned them into something delicious.
The atmosphere in the kitchen while they were doing this was fantastic. There was a lot of rushing about and comparing what each of the teams had done. It looked exhilarating, but of course at the end of it all they got to sit down and enjoy the fruits of their labour.
