As one of the IA’s two Senior Executive Assistants, Claudia is a key point of contact for day-to-day room bookings and operational support. Dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive environment, she strives to ensure that every student who walks through the Academy’s doors feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Claudia’s career has been shaped by a single guiding question: How do we connect? As a Colombian-American who has lived and worked across the United States, Germany, and Ireland, she has discovered that whether working behind a radio microphone, managing an architectural studio, or interpreting in a medical ward, the objective remains the same: fostering clarity, understanding, and community.
With academic backgrounds in Communication Studies from UNC Greensboro and Radiologic Technology from UNC Chapel Hill, Claudia thrives at the intersection of technical precision and creative expression. Her professional journey—from Radio DJ and Webcasting Music Director to Medical Interpreter and Executive Assistant at the UCD School of Physics—has nurtured a deep commitment to social justice, equity, and a holistic perspective on global health. She believes strongly in the transformative power of education and the vital role that support systems play in driving positive change.
Outside of work, Claudia enjoys running, knitting, exploring history, and discovering new cultures with her family. For her, music is more than background noise—it is the soundtrack to a life guided by curiosity and continuous learning.
