3D PRINTER HACKATHON

3D printing is set to revolutionise science, technology and the arts. You can be part of that revolution with the launch of the new Innovation Academy space for Innovators and Entrepreneurs at UCD.

We want our innovators to build the future so to celebrate the opening of our new purpose built space in the O’Brien Centre for Science we are offering you a unique opportunity to start building that future from the ground up.

On Friday 31st January 2014 we are setting the entire campus an innovation challenge – a 3D Hackathon where you will assemble and demonstrate your own 3D printer.

We are delighted that our new President Andrew Deeks along with Philip Moynagh, Intel will be officially opening our new space and will launch the competition. Philip spearheaded the creation of the Galileo development board – the first Intel board produced with the inscription ‘Designed in Ireland’ and will be inspiring all participants to take the lead in designing Ireland’s future!

We believe the only way to really understand this new 3D printer technology is to build it, break it, fix it and improve it with your own hands, so we’ll provide the parts – and you’ll provide the technical and creative spark of genius! And remember, teams that have fun get more done!

We hope you’ll join us for this truly memorable experience.

THE DEVIL IN THE DETAIL
