UCD Innovation Academy’s Thomas Macagno will led this week’s UCD Earth Institute coffee morning in-person and online.

Climate change, biodiversity loss, and poverty require creative answers. This requires creating changemakers with the expertise and mindsets to innovate. Discipline-specific sustainability education often focuses on content rather than student agency. A case study is shared of an innovation for sustainability programme which employed transformative learning and design thinking (DT) to train changemakers producing self-reported changes in mindsets and confidence. Lessons from the case may inform the design of other classes and programmes.

This coffee morning is part of a miniseries of events on Pedagogy, Sustainability and the Environment organised by Treasa de Loughry (UCD School of English, Drama and Film).
